84 year-old Dorothy Ferne Attebery of Cisne, died on Thursday, August 30 at Cisne Rehabilitation and Health Center.
Dorothy was born on June 23, 1934 in Rinard, Illinois to Harold Verne and Anna Elizabeth (Tenney) Conard. She married Robert S. Attebery on September 6, 1953 in the church she grew up in, Blue Point Free Will Baptist Church, near Cisne, Illinois. He preceded in death on April 24, 2018.
Dorothy was a devoted housewife and had been a teller at Cisne State Bank, retiring in 1999. She enjoyed gardening, lawn care, and spending time with her precious grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Dorothy is survived by two sons, Don (Jean) Attebery of Cisne, Illinois and Richard (Liz) Attebery of Geff, Illinois, one brother, Floy (Mel) Conard of Cisne, Illinois. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Cody (Cecily) Attebery of Fairfield, Illinois, Andrew (Daniela) Attebery of Chicago, Illinois, J’ne (Ryan) McGehee of Fairfield, Illinois and Paige Attebery of Geff, Illinois and two great grandchildren Asa and Hutch Attebery.
Preceding Dorothy in death were her husband, parents, sister, Olive Ann Gregory and brothers, Galen and Carlin Conard and three infant brothers.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, September 1 at 11am at Hosselton-Meridith Funeral Home in Cisne. Visitation will be from 10-11am prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Cisne Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Clay County Hospice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
