A University of Illinois student could face criminal charges after police say he accidentally caused serious burns to another student by setting a bottle of alcohol on fire. The freshman reportedly suffered serious leg burns but has been released from a hospital.

Three Chicago women have filed a lawsuit calling for tighter regulation of gun sales in Illinois. In their lawsuit the women contend gun violence inflicts physical, mental, and emotional damage on children.

Frontier Community College is hosting a FAFSA Completion Night on Tuesday, October 16th from 4-6pm. The come-and-go event will be held in Room 32 of Workforce Development Center on Frontier’s campus.

Campus Police at SIU Edwardsville are investigating vandalism in the form of racial and homophobic slurs on campus in recent days, including using hair gel to write slurs on a student’s car and a car-keying on the parking lot of the Evergreen residence hall.

Artists’ activities have mostly ended for the 2018 Paint Out, but the events are still scheduled for the morning on the campus of Frontier Community College. Kid’s Paint Out will take place at noon in the Richard Mason Building and kids will have a chance to learn to paint a pumpkin and/or sunflower under the instruction of Janet Kent.
