Peggy L. Hamilton, 78, of Grayville, Illinois, died Wednesday, November 21, 2018, at her home. She was born January 11, 1940, in Cowling, Illinois, the daughter of Woodrow and Gertrude A. (Nolan) Funkhouser. She was married to Richard Wayne Hamilton, and he preceded her in death on January 16, 1999.
Peggy was a member of Cornerstone Fellowship Church in Grayville. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, working jigsaw and crossword puzzles, and studying the Holy Bible.
Survivors include son Kent (Sam) Hamilton of Mt. Vernon, Indiana; daughters Ginger (Curt) Davis of Grayville, Vavette (Bob) Pritchard of Bluff City, Tennessee; brothers Jim (Sue) Funkhouser, Bobby Joe (Brenda) Funkhouser, Steve (Patti) Funkhouser, Randy (Belinda) Funkhouser, all of Grayville; sisters Shirley McComas, Floetta Merritt, all of Grayville, Patsy (Bob) Ragsdale of Okawville, Illinois, Sally (David) Bosecker, Connie (David) Spruell, all of Grayville; grandchildren Thad (Randi) Sexton, Brett Davis, Justinn (Logan) Bell, Austin Hamilton, Aaron Davis, Isaac Hamilton, Shelby Hamilton; great grandchildren Brilee Davis, Baylor Bell, and two more on the way in December, 2018.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brothers Tommy and Ronnie Funkhouser.
Visitation and funeral are Sunday, November 25, 2018, at Cook Funeral Chapel in Grayville. Visitation is at 1 pm, and funeral is at 3 pm. Burial will be at a later date in Oak Grove Cemetery in Grayville.
