Tommy L. Newman, 75 of Fairfield passed away at 6:10 PM, Thursday, February 7, 2019 at his home. Born on June 29, 1943 in White County to Frank and Isabell Newman, he had worked in the oilfield and manufacturing, and had retired from Spartan Manufacturing in Flora.
Tommy is survived by his son Tommy (Carrie) Newman of Fairfield, grandchildren Chloe, Katherine, and Alexa, brothers Ronnie Newman of Fairfield, Charlie Newman of Carmi, Carroll Newman of McLeansboro, and Philip Newman of McLeansboro, sisters Lou Hart of McLeansboro, Connie Newman of McLeansboro, and Barbara Fletcher of Thompsonville, and a half sister Mary Jane Lyannas of Olney. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Alice, daughter Kathy, and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services for Tommy Newman will be held at 3 PM, Thursday, February 14 at Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home, with visitation from 1 PM until the time of service. He will be cremated following the service. Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
