Darrell Eugene Skropka passed away at the age of 62 at his home on March 7, 2019. He was born on March 13, 1956 to Henry Felix Skropka and Rosalee Marie Wasik, who both preceded him in death. His step-mother Gloria Roberta Skropka of Dale, IL is still living. Darrell married Connie Pugh on December 23, 2007 who still resides in Bowling Green, KY.
He leaves behind 2 daughters, Lindsey (and Harlen) Whisenhunt of Ina, IL and Angela (and Chris) Cross of McLeansboro, IL – both daughters of Audrey Reed Skropka of McLeansboro, IL; 5 step-children Stephanie (and Clint) Dotson of Waco, TX; Melanie (and Matt) Carter of Paducah, KY; Scotty Rogers of Madisonville, KY; Joshua (and Tammy) Phelps of Paducah, KY and Jonathan (and Rebecca) Phelps of Auburn, KY; 18 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
He also leaves behind 5 siblings, William (and Brenda) Skropka of McLeansboro, IL; Ganice Skropka of Woodlawn, IL; Vance Skropka of Dale, IL; Jane Crowder of Harrisburg, IL and Paula (and Bryan) Henderson of Centralia, IL; many nieces, nephews, Aunts, Uncles and cousins.
Darrell was a Christian of Catholic faith. He was a fork lift operator and loved what he did. He loved golf, gardening, his family and his puppy Bee Bee.
He requested to be cremated with a Celebration of his Life at Dale, IL. This Celebration will take place on Sunday, March 17th from 1:30 – 4:00 pm at the Dale Community Church on Hwy 142, Dale, IL.
The Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro is assisting the family with arrangements.
