Marsha Lynn Marcum, 56, of Centralia, passed peacefully March 22, 2019, surrounded by her family at home. She was born November 30, 1962 in Mt. Vernon the daughter of Ronald and Wilma (Meador) Hawkins. She married Tony Marcum on August 12, 2016 in Centralia.
Marsha leaves treasured memories shared with her devoted husband Tony Marcum of Centralia; cherished son Jonathon Mills of Mt. Vernon; step-children Lance Marcum, wife Megan of Centralia and Erin Mooney, husband Bobby of Wayne City; loving mother and father Wilma and Ronald Hawkins, mother-in-law and father-in-law Pat and Lyle Marcum all of Centralia; treasured grandchildren Faith Mooney, Hadley Marcum, Mandolin Mooney, Elijah Marcum, and Tinley Marcum; brother Wayne Hawkins, wife Nila of Iuka; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her precious daughter Jennifer Lynn Mills.
Marsha was a faithfully devout Christian whose calling in life was children’s ministry. For 12 years, she was the hands and feet of Jesus as the Central Christian Church Children’s Pastor. She left behind a legacy of leading many young hearts to know more about Jesus. She was also instrumental in the creation of the new addition at Central Christian Church in Mt Vernon. Marsha will be remembered for her love of children, her family, and her walk with God.
Celebration of services will be held 11:00 Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia. Pastor Randy Sells and Lance Marcum will be officiating with burial to follow at Donoho Prairie Cemetery in Texico. Friends and relatives are invited to visiting hours from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday at Irvin Macz Funeral Home. Memorial contributions in Marsha’s honor may be made to City Hope Church for the Children’s Dept.
