Velma D. Bailey – Fairfield

Velma D. Bailey, 88, of Fairfield, died at 8:25AM on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Fairfield Memorial Hospital Skilled Care Unit. She had worked as a Certified Nurse Aide for 15 years at Wayfair Nursing Home and Fairfield Memorial Hospital. Velma was born on May 26, 1930, in Aden, IL, to Fred and Bessie (Wilkerson) Hutchcraft.

Survivors include three daughters Judith (Ben) Tyree and Linda (John) Bosecker both of Fairfield and Karen (Ron) Strong of Jacksonville Beach, FL, five grandchildren Staci (Rob) Morse, Angie (Rob) Morris, Trudy (David) Randolph, Shelly (Mark) Hubner, and Jason (Janie) Mullinnax, ten great grandchildren, two sisters Dorothy Shell of Wayne City, and Eva Bailey of Mill Shoals, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one infant granddaughter Amy Mullinnax, three brothers Wayne, James and Willard Hutchcraft, and three sisters Wilma Martin, Wanda Lowery, and Winefred Hutchcraft.

Funeral services for Velma Bailey will be at 11AM on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7PM on Tuesday, April 23rd at the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made to the FMH Skilled Care Unit Activities Dept and will be accepted at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
