Carrol D. Wood, 55, of Wentzville, Missouri, formerly of Wayne City, Illinois, passed away June 8, 2019 in Wentzville, Missouri. He was born August 4, 1963 to Verdon and Glenda (Smith) Wood. Carrol married Mary (Shurtz) Wood on October 6, 1990 in Mount Vernon, Illinois. They were blessed with nearly 29 years of marriage.
In addition to his parents and wife, Carrol is survived by his daughter, Megan Wood of Wentzville, Missouri; son, Dalton Wood of Wentzville, Missouri; sister, Lisa Raines and husband, Jeff of Bluford, Illinois; grandmother, Ruth Wood of Bluford, Illinois; parents-in-law, Merle and Judy Shurtz of Mount Vernon, Illinois; and his beloved dog, Butterscotch.
Carrol was preceded in death by his grandfather, Truman Wood and grandparents, Earl and Roberta Smith.
A visitation will be held Thursday, June 13, 2019 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Pitman Funeral Home in Wentzville, Missouri. A second visitation will be held Friday, June 14, 2019 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the Archie Sanders Memorial Chapel at Thomason Cemetery in Wayne City, Illinois. The Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 P.M. at the chapel. Interment will follow.
