Lois C. Garrett – McLeansboro

92-year-old McLeansboro resident Lois Christine Garrett died at 11:44 a.m. on Tuesday (July 23) at Hamilton Memorial Rehab and Nursing Center in McLeansboro. She was a social worker at Evansville State Hospital in Evansville, Indiana, as well as a member of the First United Methodist Church of McLeansboro and the United Methodist Women’s group. Lois was born in Hamilton County on December 25, 1926, to Ellis Frank and Edith Pearl (Delap) Garrett.

Lois Garrett is survived by her brother-in-law Drexel Mead of McLeansboro and two nephews: Tom Garner of Golconda and John and Beverly Mead, and their daughter Sarah, of McLeansboro.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Margaret Mead and Jessie Garner, husband James, and nephew Paul.

Visitation for Lois Garrett will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. on Friday (July 26) at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro. Funeral services will follow at 2, with Reverend Russell Anderson officiating.. Burial will be in Mt. Oval Cemetery in Norris City.
