Clarence Lavern Erwin – McLeansboro

75-year-old Clarence Lavern Erwin of McLeansboro, died at 3:38 p.m. on Wednesday, August 14 at Hamilton Memorial Hospital ER in McLeansboro. He was a farmer. Clarence was a member of Ageless Iron Tractor Club, McLeansboro American Legion Post 106, Past Supervisor for Knights Prairie Twp over 20 years, Pioneer Corn Salesman over 25 years, Sunday School teacher, Deacon of Union Missionary Baptist Church. He was a member of the Union Missionary Baptist Church. Clarence served in the National Guard during the Vietnam War.

Clarence was born on February 1, 1944 in Mobile, Alabama to William Clarence Erwin and Golda Pearl (Wallace) Erwin. He married Judith Ann McKay on November 25, 1967 in Frisco, Illinois.

Survivors include his wife Judy of McLeansboro; two daughters: Teresa Erwin of McLeansboro and Amanda Sanders (husband Brian) of McLeansboro; two sons: Gary Erwin of McLeansboro and Chad Erwin (wife Julie) of McLeansboro; 7 grandchildren: Carson Carrell, Cameron Toms, Emma Erwin, Abby Erwin, Brianna, Gavin and Holden Sanders. Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers: Richard and Roger Erwin.

Funeral services for Clarence Lavern Erwin will be held on Sunday, August 18 at 2 p.m. at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro. Burial will be at Mt. Nebo Cemetery in McLeansboro. Graveside Military Rites will be accorded by American Legion Post 106 of McLeansboro and the National Guard. Rev. Leland Widick, Rev. Ralph Wilton and Rev. Ron Nelson will officiate the service. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, August 17 at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
