Hester Harl – Mt. Vernon, Indiana

86-year-old Mt. Vernon, Indiana, resident Hester Harl passed away early Monday morning, September 9, 2019, at The Waters of Princeton Rehab and Skilled Nursing Home in Princeton, Indiana.

Hester was one of eight children. She was born in Mill Shoals, Illinois, on February 1, 1933, to William and Carrie (Hutchcraft) Mossburger. Hester married Carson Harl in 1951 and he preceded her in death on Sept. 6, 2013.

Hester had worked as a secretary for various businesses over the years and was a housewife.

She is survived by her only son, Randy Harl of Princeton, Indiana; three sisters: Bernadine Watson, Mary Winter Holmes and Eva Marvel, all of Fairfield; one grandson, Jody Harl of Mt. Vernon, Indiana; and one great grandson, Carson Walker Harl. Many nieces and nephews also survive, including her special niece Glenna Crane of Fairfield.

Hester was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson Aaron Harl; sister, Mina Huey and three brothers, Everett, Virgil and Charles Mossburger.

A visitation will be held Thursday, September 12th, from 10:00am until 11:00am at Nale’s Funeral Home in Fairfield. A graveside service will follow at 11:30am at the Burnt Prairie Cemetery in Burnt Prairie, Illinois.
