Billy Hucker – Texico, Illinois

78-year-old Billy Hucker of Texico, Illinois went home to be with the Lord at 3:19 P.M. September 19 at his residence in Texico, Illinois. He was born July 8, 1941 in Carmi, Illinois to the late Roy Charles and Doris (Hutchcraft) Hucker Upton. He married Linda D. (Scarlett) Hucker on September 30, 2006 in Carmi, Illinois.

In addition to his wife of nearly thirteen years, Bill is survived by his daughters, Janet Siemens and husband, Dan of Livermore, California, Karen Aburto of Wichita, Kansas, Alicia Shapiro and husband, Jeff of San Diego, California, Amanda Rhoades and husband, Shane of Marion, Illinois, and Bethany Edgecombe and husband, Ryan of Lincoln, Illinois; grandchildren, Carolyn and Elizabeth Siemens, Katie Aburto-Hucker, Katelyn and Max Rhoades, Zane, Seth, and Lonnie Edgecombe; sister, Barbara Martin; brother, Larry Hucker and wife, Jolene; brother-in-law, Leon Hughes; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his grandson, Benjamin Edgecombe; sister, Patsy Hughes; brother-in-law, Earl Martin; and step-father, Ralph Upton.

Bill proudly served in the United States Air Force. He retired as an engineer at PG&E Gas Company. Bill was a Christian who loved the Lord. He enjoyed many things in life including: Nascar, cowboy poetry, and target shooting. He loved to travel to the Grand Canyon and the American West. Most importantly Bill cherished his family. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date at their farm.
