Marjorie L. Garascia – McLeansboro

89-year-old McLeansboro resident Marjorie Lee Garascia died at 9:32 a.m. on Monday (9-23) at Hamilton Memorial Rehab and Health Care Center in McLeansboro. She was a homemaker and  cook at Dale School, a past member of the Live and Learn Club at Tucker’s Corner, a member of the Methodist Ladies SPI Class, and attended Hopewell Baptist Church.

Marjorie was born October 2, 1929, in Richview to James C. and Maude L. (White) Skibinski. She married Jimmy Lee Stanart in Richview on May 1, 1948, and he preceded her in death on June 19, 2004. She then married David Garascia on December 9, 2006, at Sesser Methodist Church, and he preceded her in death.

Marjorie Garascia is survived by sons Mike (Aleta) Stanart of McLeansboro and Ronald Lee (Julie) Stanart of Mt. Vernon; daughters Linda Cain of Bridge City, TX, and Debra Garascia of Sesser; brother James Skibinski of Centralia; sisters Frieda Manion of Chanahon and Sherry (David) Redmond of Dothan, AL; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother and sister-in-law Phillip and Juanita Skibinski, and sister Mary Street.

Funeral services for Marjorie Garascia will be held on Saturday (9-28) at 1 p.m. at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro with Revered Robert Sefried officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to time of service. Burial will be at the I.O.O.F Cemetery in McLeansboro.
