Sarah “Wilhelmine” Taylor – Clay City

97-year-old Sarah “Wilhelmine” Taylor of Clay City, died at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, October 15 at Helia Healthcare Center in Olney, Illinois.

Wilhelmine was born November 16, 1921 at Clay City, Illinois to Scott and Goldie (Best) Hubble. She married Huel A. Taylor July 28, 1937 in Richland County, Illinois.

Wilhelmine was a housewife and enjoyed going to auctions, cooking, fishing, farming and spending time with the family. She attended the Shiloh Methodist Church.

Wilhelmine is survived by one daughter Erma (Larry) Benson of Noble, Illinois, three sons Ronald (Lisa) Taylor of Clay City, Illinois, Charles (Connie) Taylor of Centralia, Illinois, and Paul (Angie) Taylor of Albion, Illinois. Twenty-one grandchildren, thirty-seven great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren also survive.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, one daughter Pauline, a son Lloyd, an infant son, one grandchild, two brothers, and two sisters.

Graveside service will be 12:30 p.m., Saturday, October 19 at Wells Cemetery. Everyone attending the service is asked to go directly to the cemetery. There will be no visitation.

Memorials in memory of Wilhelmine may be given to the Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Society and will be accepted at Hosselton-Meridith Funeral Home.
