Elmer Glen Duvall, 82, of Calvin, Illinois, died Wednesday, December 4, 2019, at his home. He was born January 18, 1937, in Carmi, Illinois, the son of William and Callie (Hayes) Duvall. He was married to Martha (Moore) Duvall in 1982.
Elmer was a US Army veteran and served in Germany in the 1950’s. He was a heavy equipment operator and for over 50 years, a member of the Operating Engineers #318, as well as a Lifetime Member of the VFW. For many years he worked for Gray Township. He enjoyed gardening, working in his yard, operating heavy equipment, travelling and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Martha of Calvin; sons Randy (Penny) Duvall of Carmi, Donald Webb of Woodlawn, Illinois, Rick (Amy) Miller of Carmi; daughters Brenda (Habib) Rahman of Centralia, Illinois, Linda (Bill) Baxter of Grayville, Illinois, Lisa Marlow of Herald, Illinois; brothers Wilkie (Sonnie) Duvall of Galatia, Illinois, Gus (Sue) Duvall of Carmi; sisters Loretta (Robert) Pollard of Carmi, and Helen (Bob) Duvall of Chicago, Illinois; 11 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren.
In keeping with Elmer’s wishes, his remains were cremated and there are no services.
Cook Funeral Chapel in Grayville is in charge of arrangements.
