Estella Mae Braddock – Sullivan

91-year-old Estella Mae Braddock, of Sullivan, Illinois, formerly of Wayne City passed away at 10:15 P.M. December 11 at Aspen Creek of Sullivan, Illinois. She was born June 3, 1928 in Bluford, Illinois to the late Clarence “Buster” Charles and Amanda (Henry) King. She was married to Willard Samuel Braddock in September of 1947 and he preceded her in death in August of 1982.

Estella Mae is survived by her sisters, Shirley Jean Richardson and husband, Owen of Mount Zion, Illinois and Phyllis Nell Morgan and husband, Charles of Warrensburg, Illinois; sister-in-law, Elaine Kay King of Decatur, Illinois; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and beloved husband, Mrs. Braddock was preceded in death by two infant brothers; her sister, Corrine Wilson; and two brothers, Junior Clarence King and Vern Dale Johnson.

Estella Mae did clerical work for Benoist Brothers and Sears, and later owned and operated a grocery store in Wayne City. She was a former member of the Bluford Ruritans and was of the Baptist faith. She was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

A Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon Monday, December 16 at the Archie Sanders Memorial Chapel at Thomason Cemetery in Wayne City, Illinois. The Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 P.M. with Mr. Steve Ingram officiating. Interment will follow at Thomason Cemetery in Wayne City. Memorials may be made to Mount Olive Cemetery or Thomason Cemetery.
