Colleen Clevenger – Fairfield

91 year old Fairfield resident, Colleen Clevenger, passed away Wednesday, December 25th 2019 at Fairfield Memorial Hospital
Colleen was born October 23, 1928 at Burnt Prairie, Illinois to Ivan and Letha (Hume) Coale. She attended eleven years of school at Burnt Prairie and graduated in 1946 from Fairfield High School. On July 25, 1947 Colleen married Charles P. Walker and he preceded her in death on December 6, 1965. On May 6, 1980 Colleen married Vernest (Johnny) Clevenger. He preceded her in death on March 7, 2006. Colleen retired from WADI as the Director of the Weatherization program. She was a long time member of the Burnt Prairie Presbyterian Church.

Colleen is survived by one son; Charles (Kim) Walker of Burnt Prairie, three daughters; Teresa (Lloyd) Young of Burnt Prairie, Nancy (Bob) Blagg of Rockville, IN, Janice (Mike) Hutson of Burnt Prairie. two step daughters; Chris Tina (Don) Jenner of Tinley Park, Il and Dee Anna (Jim) Scherrer of Jamul, Cal. Two brothers; Jim (Nancy) Coale and Bill (Jean) Coale, both of Fairfield. 7 grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren, several great and great-great grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews. Preceding Colleen in death were her parents, both her husbands and an infant daughter.

Services for Colleen Clevenger will be at noon Tuesday, December 31, at Nale’s Funeral Home in Fairfield. Visitation will be Tuesday,10:00 a.m. until time of the funeral. Burial will follow in the Burnt Prairie Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Dr. Dennis Scranton Memorial Cancer Fund and will be accepted at Nale’s Funeral Home which are in charge of the arrangements.
