83-year-old Sondra Julian of West Frankfort, died at 8:05 p.m. Sunday, December 29 at West Side Rehabilitation Center in West Frankfort. She was a legal secretary and was employed by NASA. Sondra was a past member of Ten Mile Baptist Church in McLeansboro. She loved outdoor activities including kayaking, scuba diving, horseback riding and motorcycling. Sondra also loved photography.
Sondra was born on October 1, 1936 in McLeansboro to William Rolla Faulkner and Thelma M. (Allen) Faulkner. She married Thomas Eugene Julian in 1996 at Garden of the Gods.
Survivors include her husband, Tom Julian of West Frankfort; two sons: Randy Pierce and wife Elvira of St. Louis, Missouri and Patrick F. Pearce of St. Louis; a grandson: Sean Pierce of Kansas City, Missouri; three step daughters, two step sons: Andy Julian and wife Susan of Simpson, Illinois and Aaron Julian of St. Louis, Missouri; five great-grandchildren; a brother: William Hal Faulkner and wife Julia Ann of Carmi; several nieces and nephews also survive. Sondra was preceded in death by her parents, brother Charles L. Faulkner, sister Mary Jane Faulkner, one stillborn infant.
Funeral services for Sondra Julian will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, January 2 , 2020 at Harre Funeral Home with Reverend Robert Sefried officiating. Burial will be held at Hutson Cemetery in McLeansboro. Visitation will be held from 12 noon until the time of the funeral at 1 p.m. Thursday, January 2 at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
