Sandra Dawsey – Albion

71-year-old Albion resident, Sandra Dawsey, passed away late Monday Evening, January 6th at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.

Sandra was born August 15, 1948 at Fairfield, Illinois to Weldon and Francis (Dalton) Galiher. She married Bill Dawsey on July 1st, 1973 and he preceded her in death in May of 2001. Sandra had been a cook at the Browns Senior Center and Rest Haven Manor Nursing Home in Albion, she had also worked in home healthcare. Sandra was a member of the First Baptist Church in Albion and also belonged to the Tops Group. She loved to go camping, especially enjoying Kuhl’s Kozy Campground in Ingraham, Illinois. A treasured hobby of Sandra’s was to collect and read cookbooks.

Sandra is survived by one daughter; Janette (Kevin) McCorkle of Browns, two sons; Billy Dawsey of West Salem and Eddie Bannon of Browns; One grandson, Bobby (Ashlynne) McCorkle and great grandchildren, Hayden McCorkle and Ernie. Preceding Sandra in death were her parents, husband, and brother, Gary Galiher.

Services for Sandra Dawsey will be 11:00am Saturday, January 11th, at Nale’s Funeral Home in Albion. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral at 10:00am at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery in Fairfield. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kuhl’s Kozy Campground or the Edwards County Senior Citizens Center and will be accepted at Nale’s Funeral Home.
