Louis F. Jackson Jr. – Fairfield

91-year-old Louis F. Jackson Jr, of Fairfield passed away at 12:21PM on Thursday January 23rd at Brookstone Estates. He was a foreman at PPG having retired after 30 years. Louis was in the National Guard, then the US Marines from 1950-1953 where he was a Drill Instructor as a Sergeant. After the Marines, he was part of the Logan County Sherriff’s Posse in the 1960’s. Louis also owned and operated Diamond J Ranch in Lincoln IL raising Pleasure Class Appaloosa horses. He was born in Hartsburg IL on September 30, 1928 to Louis Frederick and Evelyn (Pech) Jackson.

Louis is survived by a daughter- Cindy (Dan) Sager of Fairfield; sons- Rick (Maggie) Jackson of Fountain Valley CA, and Terry (Lisa) Jackson of Middletown IL; grandchildren- Brian (Deb) Sager of Raymore MO, Brad (Amy) Sager and Rebecca (Ben) Fletcher both of Fairfield; great grandchildren- Ella and Emeri Kate Sager, Audrey and Andrew Fletcher, Zeke and Lilah Sager; sister- Marilyn Harmsen of Emden IL; brother- Bill Jackson of Aurora WA.

Louis was preceded by his wife of 64 years- Shirley Jackson, and his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11AM on Tuesday January 28th at Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Fairfield with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery with military rites provided by Anthony Wayne Post #176 American Legion and the Wayne County Post #4535 VFW. Honors will also be provided by the Illinois Patriot Guard. Visitation will be held from 10AM until the time of service at the church.
