John C. Wagner – McLeansboro, IL

94-year-old McLeansboro, IL resident, John C. Wagner, died at 5:23 a.m. January 24, 2020 at Wabash Christian Village in Carmi, IL.  He was born February 12, 1925 in Golconda, IL to Ray Lewis Wagner and Grace Alice (Rigor) Wagner.  He was married to Lotus Evelyn Phelps June 4, 1945 in Saline County, IL.  She preceded him June 2, 2007.  He worked over 34 years as an over the road truck driver for Auto Convoy Co.  He delivered cars to Ford dealerships all over the US.  He was a member of Teamsters Union #604.  He was protestant by faith, and loved gardening and spending time with his family and BEST FRIEND Billy the dog.

Surviving are two daughters, Donna White and husband David of McLeansboro, IL and Betty Connaway and husband Robert of McLeansboro, IL; 7 grandchildren, Monica Breiling and husband Gary, Angela McEwen and husband Larry, Christina Garrett and husband Kelly, Rick White, Andy White and wife Jay, Sarah Crist and husband Jason, and Aaron White and wife Liz; 16 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Lotus, four brothers, two sisters, two great-grandsons, Anthony White and Kegan Andrew Crist, and a great-great-grandson James McEwen.

Funeral services will be at noon Monday, January 27, 2020 at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro, IL with Pastor Jacob Gray officiating.  Burial will be in Douglas Cemetery in Hamilton County, IL.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Monday, January 27, 2020 until the time of service at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro, IL, which is in charge of the arrangements.
