Bernice Gibbs, 95, former resident of Brookstone Estates passed away at 5:27AM on Friday January 24th, 2020 at Heritage Manor in Mt Zion IL. She had worked at Airtex and was a longtime member of Ellen Moore United Methodist Church in Fairfield. Bernice was born in Wayne County on September 3, 1924 to Ray and Zelma (Reid) Farmer.
Bernice is survived by grandchildren- Sonya (Tony) Hessling of Elmhurst IL, Kathy Gibbs of Clarendon Hills IL, Dan Suddarth of Decatur IL, Dee Suddarth Colbert of Mt Zion IL, Mark (Cindy) Suddarth of Bethany IL, and Lori Suddarth of Sullivan IL; 11 great grandchildren also survive, along with a daughter-in-law, Mary Duncan Gibbs.
Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, husband- Carroll Gibbs, son- Robert Gibbs, and stepdaughter- Ruth Ann Suddarth.
Funeral services will be held at 12 PM on Monday January 27th, 2020 at Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
