MARILYN SALES, 75, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, formerly of Wayne County passed away Thursday, January 30, 2020 surrounded by her family at her home.
Marilyn was born September 2, 1944 in Flora, Illinois to Burney and Eloise (Howard Reid. Marilyn graduated from Flora High School. She married Fred Sales June 20, 1987 at Bentons Port, Iowa. She retired as Director of Nursing for the Iowa Department of Corrections.
Marilyn is survived by her husband Fred Sales of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; six daughters Kelli (John) Kelchen, Heather (Terry) Burkart, Kristin Sales, Rachel Van Tomme, Karen (Tom) Sabyan, and Nicole (Eric) Wagner; one son Brandon (Molly) Sales; one sister Sherry (Kevin) Wolfe and one brother Perry (Linda) Reid. Twelve grandchildren, one great grandchild and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceding her in death were her parents Burney and Eloise Reid, brother Burney Lee and one sister Karen Jane.
Graveside service will be 11:00am Thursday, February 6, 2020 at Gunion Cemetery near Cisne. Everyone attending is asked to go directly to the cemetery. There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be given to Sail Away to Serenity Hospice Program. The donations may be sent to Heather Burkart, 9363 Wilson St., West Des Moines, Iowa 50266.
