Wayne Heil – Centerville

Wayne Heil, 88, of Centerville, passed away at 1:40 a.m., Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at Willowbrook of Effingham in Effingham, IL. He was born in Centerville on June 27, 1931 the son of George T. and Lola Grace (Barbre) Heil. Wayne married Rebecca Lou Armstrong on June 7, 1952 and she preceded him in death on October 25, 1997. He later married Susie Hayes on September 25, 1999 and she preceded him in death on September 15, 2017. Wayne graduated from Carmi Township High School in 1949. He was a grain and livestock farmer and a member of the Pleasant Union Primitive Baptist Church in Centerville.

Wayne is survived by his daughter, Rhonda (Gene) Fearday, of Effingham; two sons, Doug (Debbie) Heil, of Eddyville and Dennis (Melanie) Heil, of Mill Shoals; 10 grandchildren, Angie (Shannon) Perkins, Candi (Dan) Switzer, Denny (Michelle) Wallace, Chris (Missy) Wallace, Ryan (Ann) Fearday, Darin (Rosie) Fearday, Ashley Fearday Ramsey, Bryce Fearday, Matthew (Kayci) Heil and Amy (JD) Hubbard ; and 20 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, George Eugene Heil and a sister, Mary Catherine McKnight.

Funeral services for Wayne Heil will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 28, 2020 at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. Burial will be in Centerville Cemetery near Carmi. Visitation will be on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at Campbell Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Wayne’s Memory to the Carmi White County Schools Foundation and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi who is in charge of arrangements.
