Zelma “Zell” York – McLeansboro

94-year-old Zelma “Zell” York of McLeansboro, died at 10 p.m. Saturday, February 22 at Hamilton Memorial Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in McLeansboro. She worked in the nursing profession for many years and was employed by Dr. Vickers at Vicker’s Hospital and also employed by WOVSED. Zelma was active in the First Christian Church of McLeansboro and was a member of Mt. Pleasant Christian Church. She loved traveling, working in her yard and she was active in Home extension and Modern Woodmen activities.

Zelma was born on December 23, 1925 in Dale to Henry Millenbine and Rosie (Lynch) Millenbine. She married Dores Cletis (D.C.) York in 1947 in Morganfield, Kentucky and he preceded her in death in 1978.

Survivors include a daughter, Rita Gail Tracy of McLeansboro. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers John and Dean, sisters Reba Fosnock and Wilma Porter.

Private funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, February 27 at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro with Reverend Carroll Kakac officiating. Burial was held at Blooming Grove Cemetery in McLeansboro.
