54-year-old Kirk A. Phillips, a resident at White Oak Rehabiliation & Health Care Center in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, died at 10:07 a.m. Thursday, May 14 at SSM Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon. He was a telemarketer and enjoyed writing songs and stories. Kirk was born on September 13, 1965 in Peoria, IL to Jack W. Phillips and Fern L. (Byrd) Daily.

Survivors include his father: Jack Phillips of Morton, IL; mother: Fern L. Daily of Dahlgren; fiance: LeAnn Voyles of Mt. Vernon, IL; daughter: Courtney Yozze (husband Andrew) of Watauga, Texas; granddaughter: Kenzie Yozze of Watauga, TX; special friend: Diane Whittington of Tremont, IL; niece: Nicole Burcham of Murray, Kentucky; nephew: Michael Phillips of Dahlgren; numerous cousins also survive. Kirk was preceded in death by his step-father Rex A Daily and grandparents, brother: Billy Joe Phillips, and a special friend: James Whittington.

A private graveside memorial and burial of ashes will be held at a later date conducted by Harre Funeral Home of McLeansboro. Reverend Greg Hughes will be officiating the service.
