Oscar Lee Dale – McLeansboro

62-year-old Oscar Lee Dale of McLeansboro, died at 1:17 a.m. Thursday, May 21 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. He was a welder/supervisor at Magnum Steel Works in Mt. Vernon, IL. Oscar was an avid hunter, fisherman, golfer and loved watching his grandchildren play sports and he enjoyed working hard.

Oscar was born on April 7, 1958 in Harrisburg to Delbert Dale and Mary Juanita (Moore) Dale.

Survivors include a son: Jason Dale of Mt. Vernon, IL; three daughters: Sarah Carr (husband Matthew) of Woodlawn; Rachel Lee (husband Johnnie) of Dix; Shawna Shook of Mt. Vernon, IL; a sister: Debora Dale of McLeansboro; a brother: Delbert Gene Dale (wife Krystal) of Sugar Loaf, Pennsylvania; grandchildren: Colten and Erin Carr, Landen, Talen and Tennysen Lee; Alyiah, George and Alivia Shook; Elijah Kane Dale; numerous nieces and nephews survive, along with dear friend, Pamela Dickens. Oscar was preceded in death by his parents.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a Private Family Memorial Service will be held and a Family Burial of Ashes will be conducted, as per Oscar’s wishes. Reverend Robert Sefried will officiate the service.

The Harre Funeral Home of McLeansboro is in charge of his service.
