Linda “Sue” Dye – Fairfield

73-year-old Linda “Sue” Dye of Fairfield, died at 6:00pm on Thursday, May 28 at the Linda White Hospice Center in Evansville, IN.  She had worked for the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, serving in numerous positions, the latest being the Sheriff’s secretary until her retirement.

Sue was born on August 14, 1946, in Princeton, IN, to Dale and Vera (Garris) Locke. She was married to Richard Dye, who preceded her in death in 2004.

Survivors include one son Dale Dye, and one daughter Amanda (Cory) Lynch both of Fairfield, one grandson Jackson Dye, three brothers Larry (Bonnie) Locke of Wayne City, IL, Mike Locke and Darrell Toombs both of Fairfield, three sisters Ruth (Marion) Craig of Calhoun, IL, Charlotte (Jim) Dye of Fairfield, and Donna Wheeler of Mt. Vernon, IL, along with several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Richard.

A private family funeral service will be held on Monday, June 1st at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield, with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery.
