Richard A. Pike – Fairfield

72-year-old Richard A. Pike of Fairfield, died at 12:35am on Monday, August 10 at Fairfield Memorial Hospital in Fairfield. He had worked at the Fairfield Post Office as a clerk for 28 years before retiring. Richard was a veteran of the United States Army, serving from April, 1970 until November, 1971.

Richard was born on February 15, 1948 in Geff, to Phillip and Allie (Hawkins) Pike. He was married to Barbara (Harrison) Pike.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Pike of Fairfield, one son Dustin Pike and one daughter Amy Seidel both of Fairfield, four grandchildren Blaize, Brittany, and Brylan Stephenson, and Brooklyn Pike, one great grandchild, one brother David (Linda) Pike of Cincinnati, OH, one sister Phyllis (Raymond) Laird of Fairfield, special nieces Rhonda and Kerri, along with several other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one granddaughter Ashlynn Pike.

Funeral services for Richard Pike will be held at 1pm on Wednesday, August 12th, at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery. Military rites will be provided by Anthony Wayne Post #176 American Legion and the Wayne County Post #4535 VFW. Visitation will be from 11am until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made to the Dr. Scranton Memorial Cancer Fund and will be accepted at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home.
