98-year-old Mt. Vernon, Illinois resident, Faye Capps died at 10:05 a.m. Monday, August 24, at Mt. Vernon Health Care Center in Mt. Vernon. She had worked at Elder’s Manufacturing in McLeansboro and also worked as a mail sorter for the U.S. Postal Service.
Faye was born on February 12, 1922 in Dale to James “Jim” Clark and Elma Jane (Webb) Clark. She married Arthur Capps on August 25, 1945. He died on December 10, 2014.
Survivors include a brother, four nieces and one nephew. Preceding Faye in death were her parents, husband, and three brothers.
Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday, August 27 at 10 a.m. at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in McLeansboro. Reverend Robert Sefried will officiate the service. For those attending, please go directly to the cemetery and social distancing guidelines will be observed. Face coverings will be required. Thank you for your cooperation.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in honor of Anna Faye Capps.
