Paris Simpson – Fairfield

76-year-old Paris Simpson of Fairfield, died at 9:05AM on Monday, August 24 at his home. He was a career police officer having worked for the Wayne County Sheriffs Office for 8 years and the Fairfield City Police for 20 years. Paris also was a janitor at Fairfield Community High School and worked at Fairfield National Bank. Paris was born in Fairfield on August 20, 1944 to Paris M. and Cora (Baker) Simpson. He married Betty Slankard on June 12th, 1966.

Paris is survived by his wife- Betty Simpson of Fairfield; sons- Paris A. Simpson of Fairfield and Brian K. Simpson of Panama City FL; granddaughters- Kirstyn (Thad) Milan of Fairfield, Paige (Kyle) Buss of Mt. Carmel, and Peyton Simpson of Fairfield; great grandchildren- Skylar and Stella Milan; brothers- John O. (Fran) Simpson and Donald F (Brenda) Simpson both of Muscle Shoals AL.

Paris was preceded in death by his parents, brother- Robert Baker, and Sister Mary Tjaden.

Funeral services will be held at 1PM Wednesday August 26th at Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home with burial at Maple Hill Cemetery with military rites provided by Anthony Wayne Post #176 American Legion and the Wayne County Post #4535 VFW. Visitation will be from 11AM until the time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Celtic Hospice or Fairfield Cancer Care and will be accepted at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home which is in charge of all the arrangements.
