Glenda Sue Loftis – McLeansboro

72-year-old McLeansboro resident Glenda Sue (Childers) Loftis died at 12:05 a.m. on Friday (August 28) at Hamilton Memorial Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on November 3, 1947 in East Prairie, MO, to James Paul and Catherine Virginia (Brock) Childers.

She worked as a caregiver for many years, was a member of Franklin Road Baptist Church in Murfreesboro, TN, and also attended several churches in southern Illinois.

Glenda Loftis is survived by daughter Michelle (Reed) Wirth and husband Curt of Plainfield, IN; grandchildren Marcus Wirth of Smyrna, TN, Jordan Wirth of Indianapolis, IN, and Dylan Wirth of Chicago; great-grandchildren Peyton William Ellis and Oliver Hayes Hostetter; siblings Jim (Vickie) Childers, Phyllis Kellison, Judy (Steve) Riechman, and Sandy (Donnie) Shuster; sister-in-law Barb Childers; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Barbara Ann Roberson and husband Don, Sherri Miller and Cathy Childers; brothers Charles Blumenberg, Terry Childers, and Donald Childers; and nieces Holly Dawn Shuster and Cynthia Dawn Kirsch.

A Graveside Memorial Burial of Ashes for Glenda Loftis will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday (September 4) at Macedonia Cemetery Please observe social distancing guidelines and have face coverings; thank you for your cooperation. . Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro was in charge of arrangements.
