61-year-old McLeansboro resident, John Eric Combs, died on 7 a.m. Thursday, September 17 at his residence. Eric worked as a fabricator for Counter Top Creations of Dahlgren. He loved to fish, play cards, use CB radios and “Tinker”.
Eric was born on March 16, 1959 in McLeansboro to James Douglas Combs and Phyllis Jane (Sharp) Combs. He married Susan (Hays) on July 14, 1984 in McLeansboro. She survives in McLeansboro.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Combs of McLeansboro; a daughter: Brittani Combs (companion Rob Popelka) of Willowbrook, IL; mother: Phyllis Combs of Glen Carbon, IL; a brother: Blair Combs (companion Sue Krukenberg) of McLeansboro. He was preceded in death by his father James and sister-in-law Karen.
A Memorial Service for Eric Combs will be held Tuesday evening, September 22 at 6 p.m. at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro. Reverend Robert Sefried will officiate the service. Social distancing will be observed and face coverings are requested. Harre Funeral Home wants to thank you for your cooperation for the safety of all.
