91-year-old McLeansboro, IL resident, Helen Ruth Johnson, passed away at 8:22 p.m. Thursday, September 17 at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, IL. She was born December 18, 1928 at Walpole, IL to Thomas Arch Warren and Emma (Braden) Warren. She was married to Junior Franklin Johnson on December 20, 1947 in McLeansboro, IL He preceded her in death on November 9, 2019. She was a homemaker, and loved to sew, cook and go fishing. She was a member of Cornerstone Church of Christ in McLeansboro, IL.
Survivors include a daughter, Pamela Huggins (husband Steve) of Ridgedale, MO; sons, Steve Johnson (wife Debby), Brent Johnson (wife Michelle) and Warren Johnson all of McLeansboro, IL; grandchildren, Lesley Auten (husband Brad) of Glen Carbon, IL, Lori Aydt (husband Tim) of Hollister, MO, Lance Huggins (wife Katie) of O’Fallon, MO, Sarah Brake (husband Tim) of McLeansboro, IL, Adam Johnson (wife Callie) of McLeansboro, IL, Derek Johnson (companion Lacey Martin) of Delafield, IL, and Amanda Johnson of Grayville; great-grandchildren, Brendan, Dale and Trevor Auten; Devon and Sophie Aydt; Macaulay, Liam and Tressa Huggins; Cale and Sadie Brake; Gus, Thea, Elsie and Katherine Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Junior, five brothers and two sisters deceased.
Funeral services for Helen Ruth Johnson will be at 11 a.m. Monday, September 21 at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro, Il with Reverend Roger Turner officiating. Burial will be in Hickory Hill Cemetery at Walpole, IL. Social distancing will be observed and face coverings will be required for the safety of all. We do thank you for your cooperaton.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, September 20 at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro, IL, which is in charge of the arrangements.
