82-year-old Ruth Ann Young of Fairfield, died at 11:00am on Friday, October 9 at her home. She had worked as a CNA at Fairfield Memorial Hospital for 30 years.
Ruth Ann was born on February 2, 1938, in Wayne County, to Ulla and Alma (Smith) Marshel. She was married to Doug Young.
Survivors include her husband Doug of Fairfield, one brother Leland (Pete) Marshel of Fairfield, four sisters Vada Kennedy of Caseyville, IL, Donetta Colclasure of Fairfield, Patricia Cisne of Wayne City, and Mary Ellen Marshel of West Blocten, AL, along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers Duane and David Marshel.
Graveside services for Ruth Ann Young will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, October 14th at Richland Cemetery, south of Boyleston. Family and friends are asked to go directly to the cemetery. Also, the family has requested that everyone attending wear a mask and follow social distancing guidelines. The Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
