Nita was born to Henry and Nila (Bell) Gray on December 25, 1941 in Mt. Vernon. She married Tom Seaman on June 26, 1993 in Fairfield and he survives. She had worked many years as a bookkeeper for various businesses, including Rex Filter in Barnhill and Petro Truck Plaza in Effingham. Nita was a member of the Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, the Hula Red Hatters, Friends of the Library, Wayne County Home Extension, First Baptist Church Joy Singers, Fairfield Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, a charter member of the Gamma Chi Sorority, and helped at the Clothesline in Fairfield. Nita dearly loved her grandchildren, doting on them and spending as much time as she could with them. She was also very much a glamour lady being fond of everything that glittered, sparkled, and never forgetting those high heels.
