Nita Carolyn Nale-Seaman – Fairfield

Nita Carolyn Nale-Seaman, age 78, of Fairfield passed away Wednesday morning, October 14, 2020 at Wabash Christian Village in Carmi.

Nita was born to Henry and Nila (Bell) Gray on December 25, 1941 in Mt. Vernon. She married Tom Seaman on June 26, 1993 in Fairfield and he survives. She had worked many years as a bookkeeper for various businesses, including Rex Filter in Barnhill and Petro Truck Plaza in Effingham. Nita was a member of the Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, the Hula Red Hatters, Friends of the Library, Wayne County Home Extension, First Baptist Church Joy Singers, Fairfield Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, a charter member of the Gamma Chi Sorority, and helped at the Clothesline in Fairfield. Nita dearly loved her grandchildren, doting on them and spending as much time as she could with them. She was also very much a glamour lady being fond of everything that glittered, sparkled, and never forgetting those high heels.

Left to cherish many wonderful memories are husband, Tom and two daughers, Tracey (Bryan) Withrow and Carol (Randy) Vaughan all of Fairfield. Two Step sons, Matthew (Marian) Seaman and Ralph Seaman and one step daughter, Michelle Jones; Sister-in-laws, June Gray and Carol Seaman; Grandchildren, Kenny (Nicole) Gooch and children, Ella, Asher, Zeke, and Eden; TJ (Becky) Vaughan and children, Grace and Shannon; Jeremy (Hillary) Vaughan and children, Kamden, Kiersten, and Kate; Jessica (Justin) Westall and children, Karleigh, Kasen, Kaleb, Karoline; step grandchildren, Andrew, Vanessa, Evelyn, and Ruby Seaman and Tyler Williams. Preceding Nita in death were her parents and two brothers.

Funeral services for Nita Nale-Seaman will be at noon, Friday, October 16, 2020 at Maple Hill Cemetery with Bro. Garrett Biggerstaff officiating. There will be a gathering of friends and family at 11am at the Cemetery prior to the graveside service. Please follow the CDC guidelines with social distancing and the wearing of masks. Memorials may be made in Nita’s memory, to Wabash Christian Village or Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at the service or at Nale’s Funeral Home which are in charge of the arrangements.
