Linda Boyd Gelling 72 of Medford, NY died Mon Oct. 19, 2020 at Stony Brook University Hospital in Stonybrook, NY.
Linda was born July 23, 1948 in Mt Vernon, IL to Milford and Phyllis (Black)Boyd.
Linda grew up in Fairfield and graduated from Fairfield Community High School class of 1966. She attended SIU Carbondale and graduated with a degree in Education. She taught school in Steelville IL before moving to Long Island, NY where she worked along side her husband in their family business. Her greatest joy in her life was her 3 sons and grandchildren.
Linda is survived by her husband Gene Gelling, sons U.E. (Rose) Gelling of Bayport, NY, Dan (Jessica) Gelling of Roswell, GA and Jonathan Gelling of Medford, NY; 2 sisters, Pam (David) Buettner St James City, FL and Patti (Ron) Bowles of Fairfield, 1 brother Jim (Pam) Boyd of Fairfield; 4 grandchildren. Brady, Bailey, Grant and Emmie. Several nieces and nephews.
Private family service will be held Monday Oct. 26th at 11am at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Patchogue, NY
The family asks in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in her name.
