Frances Lee Carter – Mill Shoals

71-year-old Frances Lee Carter of Mill Shoals, went home to be with her Lord and Savior at 8:30 pm on Monday, November 30.

Frances was born on May 28, 1949 in Mount Vernon IL to Leon and Marciel (Musgrave) Belangee.

She married the love of her life, Jerry Carter, on August 24, 1969. Together they raised 3 children to value home, family, and faith. The joys of their life followed with 5 grandchildren.

Frances was a devoted wife, mother, and Nana. She dedicated her days to raising her children and grandchildren, attending every imaginable event in their lives, all the while, managing the family businesses, Carter Trucking & Carter Farms. She also blessed countless lives with her selfless friendship and acts of love. She was a faithful member of Fairfield First Christian Church and a valuable worker in her community, serving on the Frontier Community College Foundation Board, the Mill Shoals Grade School Board, and volunteering at Feed My Sheep.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Jerry; her mother-in-law, Jacqueline Carter; one sister, Verla Flechs of Evansville; a brother, Walter (Vicki) Belangee of Newburgh; one son, Jeremy (Nikki) Carter of Fairfield; two daughters, Jill Carter of Evansville and Jodi (Jared) Poole of Burnt Prairie. Also surviving are grandchildren, Cade & Liv Carter and McKenna, Kinley, & Carter Poole, and niece, Amanda (Derrick) Woolbright.

She was preceded in death by her parents and father-in-law, Charles H. Carter.

A private graveside service for all close friends and family will be held at Maple Hill Cemetery on Thursday, December 3rd.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fairfield First Christian Church or Frontier Foundation and dropped off at Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home who is officiating the services.
