Zelma “Louise” Breeze – formerly of Fairfield

Zelma “Louise” Breeze, 92, formerly of Fairfield, died at 11:15am on Saturday, January 16, 2021, at Countryside Manor in Mt. Vernon, IL. She had held quite a few jobs in the area over the years including the cook and janitor of the Boyleston Grade School, a waitress in several local restaurants, the manager of D & J Grocery store, a manager at the Clothesline, and had worked at Skateland.

Louise was born on August 29, 1928, in Wayne County, IL, to Earl and Ruby (Talbert) Woolever. She was married to the late Dean “Eddie” Breeze.

Survivors include three daughters Donna Pinnell of Bluford, IL, Mary (Ray) Weaver of Fairfield, and Debra Venters of Geff, IL, four grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, six great grandchildren, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dean “Eddie” Breeze, one sister Shirley Woolever, one brother Herman Woolever, and two sons-in-law Jerry Pinnell and Otis Verters, Sr.

Graveside services for Louise Breeze will be at 2pm on Tuesday, January 19th, at Hopewell Cemetery north of Wayne City, IL. Per the family’s request, masks will be required and social distancing guidelines followed. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to either a school or teacher of choice to purchase necessity items for students in need or to a nursing home of the donor’s choice to apply to the account of a resident in need of assistance and will be accepted at the graveside or at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
