Bill Tice – Mt. Vernon, IL

78-year-old Bill Tice of Mt. Vernon, IL, died at SSM Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon. He was a lineman, employed by Illinois Power/Alemeda Electric. Bill was a member of East Lodge #0504 in Fairview Heights, IL, Scottish Rites Lodge of Belleville and member of Ainad Shriners of East St. Louis, IL.

Bill was born on March 26, 1942 in Seminole, Oklahoma to Elmer Tice and Cleo Imogene (Oliver) Tice. He married Mary Evelyn Deen on December 10, 1960 at Mt. Oval Presbyterian Church in Norris City.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Tice of Mt. Vernon; son: Jerry Dean Tice and wife Jerry Lou of Hampton, Virginia; two daughters: Evelyn Tice of Ft. Branch, Indiana and Sue Ann Bishop of Fairfield, California; grandchildren: Justin, Nick and Matt Tice, Eric and Nicole Bishop; great-grandchildren: Xavier and Maverick Tice; brothers-in-law: Jim Deen and wife Wanda of McLeansboro, Frank Deen and wife Donna of McLeansboro, and Donnie Deen of Walpole; sister-in-law: Beverly York of Fairfield; several nieces and nephews also survive. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Larry Dean Tice.

Funeral services for Bill Tice will be held on Monday, March 22 at 1 p.m. at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro with Reverend Bill Reed officiating the service. A private family burial service will be held at a later date. Visitation will be from 11 a.m to 1 p.m. Monday, March 22 at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro.

Memorials can be made to Shriner’s Children Hospital and will be accepted at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
