Donald Ray Ile – Albion

Donald Ray Ile, age 78, of Albion, Illinois entered the gates of heaven on Thursday, June 10, 2021 following a brief battle with cancer.

Don was born in Albion on July 25, 1942 to Corwin and Ada (Plumley) Ile. Don married Ruth Hedrick and she survives.  Don was a retired Illinois State Policeman, a member of the First Baptist Church of Albion, an avid woodworker, member of the Southern Baptist Disaster Relief Team and a member of the Gideons.

Don is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Ruth, three daughters Karen (Tony) Christensen, Kathy Clyde and Donna (Breck) Gould, two grandchildren, three step grandchildren, one great granddaughter of Utah, one brother, Kenneth (Rose Ann) Ile and one sister, Berniece Stennett and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Robert & Eldon and sister, Helen Logsdon, two grandchildren, Andrea Clyde and Nathan Clyde.

Funeral services for Donald Ray Ile will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at the First Baptist Church in Albion.  The funeral service will also be livestreamed through Ruth Ile’s Facebook page.  Burial will follow at Samaria Baptist Church Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, 5 to 7 p.m. at the church. Memorials may be made in memory of Don to the Greater Wabash Association Disaster Relief, the Gideons or to the donor’s choice and will be accepted at the services or Nale’s Funeral Home in Albion which is in charge of the arrangements.
