Betty Sue Thomas – Wayne City

83-year-old Wayne City resident, Betty Sue Thomas, passed away peacefully at her home on June 13. Betty was born on June 15, 1937 in Aden to Everett and Leathie Allen. Betty was a hard worker, having worked in the restaurant service industry for many years. She thoroughly enjoyed being around people. She loved to go bowling and root for her beloved Chicago Cubs. She was member of the Moose. Betty was married to Allen Thomas for many years and resided in Plano, Illinois for most of her marriage.

Betty is survived by seven children, Peggy Withrow, Darlene (Bill) Shopinski, Eddie Shelton, Loretta Parson, Craig (Mel) Thomas, Joel (Deb) Thomas, Jeff (Peg) Thomas, two sisters, Virginia “Sissy” and Louise, many grandchildren and great grandchildren who she cherished greatly and they her, and several nieces and nephews. Preceding Betty in death were her parents, husband Allen, son Gary, and ten siblings.

In keeping with Betty’s wishes she was cremated and will be laid to rest next to her husband in Big Rock Cemetery in Big Rock, Illinois. No formal services will be held.
