Opal Jackson – Fairfield

91-year-old Opal Jackson of Fairfield, died at 1:25 AM, on Monday, June 14 at Fairfield Memorial Hospital.

Opal was born on March 7, 1930, in Wayne County, IL, to Foster and Lydia (Elliott) Hodges. She was married to Clifford Jackson, who preceded her in death in 2007. She was a cosmetologist and was the owner and operater of Tutu’s Beauty Salon on Epworth street in Fairfield.

Opal is survived by two daughters Valerie Gay McQueen of Plainfield, IL, and Rae (Ed) Braden of McLeansboro, IL, 10 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband Clifford Jackson, five brothers Norvel, Logan, John Wilden, Kenneth, and Rawleigh Hodges, one daughter Kay Schaper, and one son Billy Raines.

Funeral services for Opal Jackson will be held at 1 PM, Friday, June 18th at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home, in Fairfield, with burial to follow in Maple Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from noon until the time of service at the funeral home.
