Jack Williams – Fairfield

Jack Williams, age 87, of Fairfield passed away at Fairfield Memorial Hospital Sunday June 13, 2021.

Jack was born in Fairfield on September 10, 1933 to Virgil and Lela (Brock) Williams. Jack worked in the oil fields as a roustabout for twenty years before going to work at Airtex in the plant eventually working his way in to the office. After leaving Airtex after 15+ years of service, he and his family relocated to Florida where he worked in construction and security. Jack eventually returned to Fairfield and worked for Specialized Metals in Wayne City until retirement. Jack was in the Army for a short time and was a member of the VFW and American Legion. He loved to visit with people and tend to his yard and garden.

Jack is survived by three grandchildren, Sam Williams of Fairfield, Christi Williams of Leesburg, Florida, and Nathan Williams of Tavares, Florida; two great grandchildren of Florida; two sisters, June McCullough of Fairfield and Jeanie Wylie of Wood River and several nieces and nephews. Preceding Jack in death were his parents, one son, Jackie, one brother, Ed and three sisters, Betty, Judy, and Sharon.

Graveside services with military honors provided by Anthony Wayne American Legion Post 176 and the Wayne Memorial Post 4535 VFW will be held at 2:30 pm, Friday, June 18, 2021 at Maple Hill Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Friends and family are asked to go directly to the cemetery.  Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be left for the family at www.nalesfuneralhome.com.
