Doris Jean Stull, 92, of Fairfield, died at 1:55pm on Friday, July 9, 2021 at Aperion Care in Fairfield.
Doris was born on February 8, 1929, in Wayne County, to James Edgar and Helen (Oakley) Cox. She was married to Auburn Stull who preceded her in death in 1999.
Until the time of her retirement, Doris had worked at Wayne-White Electric Cooperative in Fairfield. She also served as a volunteer at Aperion Care for many years. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and was loved by so many other family members and friends. Doris had been an active member of the First Baptist Church in Fairfield nearly all of her life and she cherished her relationship with God and her church family.
Survivors include one son Stan (Laura) Grimes of Round Lake, IL, two grandchildren Megan (Melissa) Bauer of Joliet, IL, and Alex Grimes of Round Lake, IL, one sister Valeta McConnell of Estero, FL, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends whom she adored. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Auburn Stull, one brother Louis Cox, four sisters Eloise Jackson, Christine Dickey, Janice (Lee) Sikora, Vonda Rickard, one infant sister Shirley Ann Cox, and one infant brother Neal Edwin Cox.
Funeral services for Doris Stull will be at 11:30am on Wednesday, July 14th at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield, with burial in Thomason Cemetery in Wayne City, IL. Visitation will be from 10am until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made to the First Baptist Church of Fairfield and will be accepted at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
