Danny Ray Brown – Benton, Illinois

49-year-old Danny Ray Brown of Benton, Illinois, formerly of McLeansboro, died on Wednesday, July 14 at his home.
He was born on March 28, 1972 to Billy “Bill,” also known to his family as “Bubba” and Michelle E. (Day) Brown also known to her family as “Grandma Brown.”  Danny was raised in DuQuoin, Illinois, before moving to McLeansboro.  He worked as a chef at many restaurants, most recently at Farris Family Restaurant in McLeansboro for 12 years.
Danny loved cooking, fishing, gardening, reading, and tinkering and fixing things, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his son, Jesse, and his grandkids who called him “Bo-Bo,” even though it was supposed to be “Bubba” like his father had been known to his grandkids.  Danny was proud to be “Bo-Bo” to his grandchildren.
Danny is survived by his son Jesse (Alexandria) Brown of Benton; 3 granddaughters Aislinn, Aleah, and Atlyss Brown of Benton; a brother Kevin (Joan) Rodenhofer of Fort Myers, Florida and several nieces and nephews.  He is also survived by long-time partner Wendy Walsh of McLeansboro, her children Karen, Jennifer, Brad (Shayna), Alex (girlfriend Laci), Billy, and Matt, as well as grandchildren Chaz, Westyn, and Kamden who he cherished as his own.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Scott, one infant sister, Ginger, and one sister, Vonda Karnes.
In accordance with his wishes, his body was cremated.  There will be no formal services at this time.
