Homer Mier – Fairfield

75-year-old Homer Mier of Fairfield, died at 7:25 AM, Thursday, July 29 at his home.  Born on December 14, 1945, in Bell City, MO to John and Mary (Lingle) Mier, he was a US Army Veteran.  He had owned and operated Mier Well Servicing and worked at Airtex Products before retiring.

Homer is survived by his wife Nancy Mier of Fairfield, daughters Carri (Shawn) Goodman of Schaumburg, IL, Candi Smith of Fairfield, and Cassandra Mier of Fairfield, 6 grandchildren- Derek (Shelbi) Smith, Megan (Anson) Rutger, Torey (Cody) Robson, Jayde Smith, Taner Smith, and Davaney Pickens, 8 great grandchildren, 2 brothers- Norman Mier of Evansville and Clyde (Margaret) Mier of Dexter, MO, and 4 sisters- Olive McCulley of Fairfield, Audra Weber of Foristell, MO, and Gayle Rentsch and Bertha Jett both of Lake St. Louis, MO.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Gerald Mier.

Funeral services for Homer Mier will be held at 1 PM, Monday, August 2 at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield, with visitation from 11 AM until the time of service.  Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery with military rites provided by Anthony Wayne Post #176 American Legion and the Wayne County Post #4535 VFW.  Memorials in his honor may be made the American Cancer Society and will be accepted at the funeral home.
