Adelia Pearl Burroughs – Johnsonville

Adelia Pearl Burroughs, 98, of Johnsonville, Illinois passed away Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at Flora Rehab and Health Care Center in Flora, Illinois.

Pearl was born April 27, 1923, to Herbert and Laura (Leathers) Lowe.  She married Leslie R. Burroughs on May 24, 1941, at Sims, Illinois. He preceded her in death May 21, 1981.

Pearl was a housewife and caretaker.  She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, and working with flowers. She was a member of Providence General Baptist Church.

Pearl is survived by one daughter Marjorie Allen of Cisne, Illinois; two sons Leslie Edward (Ruth Ann) Burroughs of Flora, Illinois and Bob (Jan) Burroughs of Johnsonville, Illinois; one daughter-in-law Debbie (Tom) Spada of LaCenter, Washington; fourteen grandchildren, forty-three great grandchildren, twenty-seven great-great grandchildren and one on the way, and twelve great-great-great grandchildren.

Preceded her in were her parents, husband, one son Willie Joe Burroughs, one grandson Robert Burroughs, one son-in-law Lyle Allen, one daughter-in-law Ruby Burroughs, and three sisters Vivian, Hilda, Dorothy, and one infant sister.

Funeral service will be at 12:00pm, noon Monday, December 6, 2021, at Providence General Baptist Church near Johnsonville, Illinois.  Visitation will be Monday, 10am to time of service at the church.  Burial will be in Powers Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to Providence General Baptist Church and will be accepted at Hosselton-Meridith Funeral Home.
