Lawrence Gayel Aud – Streamwood, IL, originally of Norris City

73-year-old Lawrence Gayel Aud of Streamwood, Illinois, and originally of Norris City, died on Tuesday, January 11 at St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.  He was born on May 11, 1948, the son of Lawrence Raymond and Lula Pearl (Sutton) Aud.  Gayel proudly served his country in the United States Army.  He married Christina Stover on December 24, 1989, and together they shared over thirty-two years of marriage. He retired from MAAC Machinery where he worked as a welder and fabricator. During Gayel’s retirement, he enjoyed being outdoors as much as possible. He could be found mowing and trimming yards of multiple neighbors houses on our block. He was a social butterfly in the neighborhood, always helping when and where needed, and well liked among all who knew him.  Gayel was a car and motorcycle enthusiast, as well as knife collector.  He enjoyed being around and having dogs.  However, most of all, he loved and cherished time with his daughter.

In addition to his wife, Christina Aud, he is survived by his daughter, Emily Grace Aud of Glendale, AZ and a sister, Mary Ella (Kern) Doerner of Norris City. He also leaves behind a beloved dog, Bullitt and several nieces and nephews, great nieces & nephews whom he loved deeply.  He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Laveda Pauline Bryant and Carolyn Sue (Sam)  Houseright.

Funeral Services for Gayel Aud, will be held at 1:00 p.m, on Monday, January 17 at Plainview General Baptist Church, in Norris City, with burial at Plainview Cemetery.  Family and friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until time of service  on Monday, January 17 at Plainview Baptist Church.  Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City is in charge of arrangements.
