John (Johnny) Walter Bratsch, 60, of Cisne, IL passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at his residence.
John was born March 22, 1962, to John A. and Lasetta Sue (Rose) Bratsch at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney, IL.
John grew up in the West Salem area and graduated from the Edwards County High School in Albion, IL. He enjoyed working on his grandfather’s farm in Parkersburg when he was young and attended the West Salem Moravian Church.
Following High School, John served in the Army during peace time. In his life he traveled widely, visiting forty-nine states, and working along the way.
In his later years John had been a care giver for his mother in Cisne. He loved fishing the local lakes, watching sports of any kind, and was an avid golf player. He also enjoyed spending time at home in his garden and caring for his dogs.
John is survived by his father John A. Bratsch of West Salem, IL; two brothers Tony (Susie) Bratsch of Spirit Lake, ID, Curtis (Tonya) Bratsch of St. Charles, MO; two nieces and one nephew; also surviving are several aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lasetta Sue Cox (Rose-Bratsch).
Graveside Service: Saturday May 14, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., Moravian Cemetery, West Salem, IL.
There will be no visitation, those attending are asked to go directly to the cemetery. Military rites will be conducted.
Memorial donations may be given in support of Mental Health Services, Wayne County Health Department, or the Moravian Cemetery of West Salem. Donations may be mailed or dropped off at the funeral home.
